First I'd like to thank Frannie for the water : ) You don't even know me, and already you're giving me gifts? I'm not worthy. Thank you : )
I had a pretty good weekend, although I was really tired. I got to see my father, my sister, and her fiance on Saturday, and Sunday, I got to see Mom, Dad, my brother and his fiance. I'm very lucky to have incredible family. This thing has changed us, has made us closer and appreciate each other more then ever. In that, it is a blessing.

Ben,
I have not had a chance to write for a couple of days but want to tell you how moved I was regarding your feelings about your Uncle Eddie. Althoug I only met him a handful of time, I felt I knew him through your Mom and his sweet family.
We celebrated Passover this week end and it always make me long for the times all you kids were little and we tried to make sense by putting on these dinners that sometimes did not have much connection to the the now.
We had the evening with my two beautiful Grandaughters, Sam and Jennifer. It is always a time of reflection for me and a time to remember. I think it makes it easier for me to Thank G-d for the goodness in our lives and the gratitude I feel for all your health. Sam is wonderful and I know that you will be too.
One time long ago, your Mother pasted a saying of "Don't forget to Remember" on her mirror. It was very wonderous then as it is today too.
I try not to foret and I try to remember how blessed we all are. I am glad your feeling well and could share the time with your Brothers and Sisters and Mom & Dad. You are so lucky to have all of them in your life and they too are so lucky to have someone as special as you.
I love you and Wish you a Happy Passover filled with the riches it brings and the love that opens our worlds.
Gayle
Hi Ben,
We're so glad you had a chance to spend time with your family over the weekend. Lauren & Carlitos joined us at a friend's home for a seder on Saturday night. It certainly brought back memories of holiday celebrations with you all in years past, as Gayle noted. My mom also was invited and I took her to see an excellent production of "South Pacific" at Lincoln Center on Sunday. It so brightened our day. Which brings me to ask what you're doing to keep enjoyment of life's gifts a part of your healing. Seeing family, of course. The best. And it sounds like watching soccer games has been fun. Are you finding any special music has been particularly attractive? Have you heard of a group called Pink Martini? I guess that the lack of appeal of certain foods has mixed blessings. Maybe some matzah ball soup??? Couldn't hurt.
Off to practice guitar. We're still pretty bad, but have a good time. No Springsteen songs yet, but quite a few Traveling Wilburys.
With much love, Eileen & Ira
Hello Ben, I have not checked your blog lately. I am relieved to hear that you are doing better, chemo is as you say horrible on everyone. Today you seemed to see how crisis brings people together. Great people like you,
lots of love and encouragement to you and your wonderful family.

You are sooooo welcome! It is such a pleasure. Although I don't know you in person I feel as though I know you through your writing which I find full of insight, tenderness and humor. I'm glad to hear you're feeling a little better today.

Didn't you love that movie?

Ben,
I just read Eileen & Ira's blog. It's so nice that we all can remember those wonderful "Family" moments that we got to share.
I also wanted to mention, the "Pink Martini" is one of our favorite groups and we have in fact seen them in person and always look forward to a new album (oops, I mean CD).
This is funny but until Steve and I moved here, Briley who will soon be 13 years old, had never seen a actual record. Her Papa's collection is now over 1600 +/- and continues to grow. Here we come swap meets and flea markets, and he goes and looks for recores and I go and look for old jewelry and beads.
We will be in California and hope to see you again soon.
Lovingly,
Gayle & Steve
